Immunoglobulin deficiency
Immunoglobulin replacement therapy is a blood-based treatment, which is derived from plasma and blood donors.
Immunoglobulin contains antibodies which will help bodies fight infection and replaces the antibodies a person’s own immune system would normally make.

We provide immunoglobulin replacement therapy for patients who have an immunodeficiency condition. There are two main types of immunodeficiency; primary immunodeficiency (PID) and secondary immunodeficiency (SID).
Primary immunodeficiency (PID)
Mainly genetic disorders. Most people with PID are born with the condition. Over 450 different PID conditions have now been identified.
Secondary immunodeficiency (SID)
Occurs when the immune system is weakened by another treatment or illness. SID is much more common as a health condition than PID. There are many potential causes of SID but the most common examples are blood or bone marrow disorders, drugs (medicines) and treatment for cancer.
We know how to treat and support at home
Immunoglobulin treatment is administered either intravenously (IVIG) or subcutaneously (SCIG) dependent on the drug prescribed.
Our clinical teams support patients with Immunodeficiencies by providing medication and equipment deliveries as well as offering nursing to those patients requiring additional support.
