Dr Skaria’s story: The Lloyds Clinical team is a true partner in caring for my patients
We’re one of the most experienced providers of specialist cancer treatment outside of hospital, in the UK. 98% of patients start their treatment within 10 days of referral. Our team provide a personalised service built around a single point of contact to make it safe, simple and responsive.
Dr Skaria is an oncologist with 24 years of experience and has worked with Lloyds Clinical since 2014. He cares for both NHS and private patients.
My patients feel that the Lloyds Clinical team is willing to go the extra mile
The Lloyds Clinical team is a true partner in caring for my patients. My patients feel that the Lloyds Clinical team listens and respects their wishes and is willing to go the extra mile. The Patients’ confidence and trust in a fully committed Lloyds Clinical team takes the stress away from the patient.
The team communicates very well. They do physical, mental and emotional assessments. In addition to the chemo nurses, the Clinical Nurse Specialists talk to them for extra support, especially if they are anxious or have suboptimal symptom control.
During the COVID pandemic, the Lloyds Clinical team was able to carry on seeing patients. Their nurses followed all the necessary safety and clinical precautions, which meant there were no breaks in treatment or care for my patients. I am indebted to them for that.

Safety has not been a concern in all the years I have dealt with Lloyds Clinical
One of the main questions I get from my patients is regarding the safety of treatment provided at home. Safety has not been a concern in all the years I have dealt with Lloyds Clinical. The team screens every patient regularly, and patients are accepted for treatment at home only after scrutiny. The nurses are fully trained, highly professional and have the necessary equipment to respond adequately in an emergency. For treatment at home, checks on investigations, pre-chemo blood tests, patient assessments and prescriptions are very thorough.
Patients have 24-hour access to Lloyds Clinical on-call team. Every contact is updated in patient notes on the iQemo app, which is easily accessible for me (even on phone).
I can log in and check on my patient’s blood results and assessments easily. iQemo allows me to see exactly what’s happening with my patients, and it’s easy for me to get involved and make requests for tests or information.
The referral process for treatment at home is fast and efficient. The Lloyds Clinical team can get treatment started very quickly, and they are always on hand to help with the process. Once a decision is made and the patient consents to treatment, we seek authorisation from the insurance company. There is an automated process for insurance submissions, which is convenient. It can take 48 hours to get approval from the insurance company. The team coordinates initial visit, blood tests, treatment dates, etc. Lloyds Clinical team members are highly professional, caring and reliable. I have no hesitation recommending Lloyds Clinical to my patients and other professional colleagues.
