Our commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is a set of standards used to measure an organisation’s impact on the environment and society.
Our commitment to delivering high quality patient care goes beyond clinical excellence – it means operating ethically, sustainably, and with integrity.
Not an optional commitment, a fundamental part of how we operate
We’re one of the most experienced providers of specialist clinical care outside of hospital, in the UK. We are committed to embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across everything we do – it’s fundamental to how we support the NHS, private healthcare providers, and the wider healthcare system.
In 2024, we conducted a comprehensive ESG evaluation, measuring our impact in sustainability, patient care, workforce wellbeing, and governance. The results confirmed our progress and set a clear roadmap for improvement.
Change through ESG: Environmental Sustainability
We are actively reducing our environmental footprint through targeted sustainability initiatives that drive measurable impact:
- 50% of our fleet is now fitted with telematics, improving fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
- Our waste recycling programme is fully operational across all sites, ensuring that maximum possible waste is diverted from landfill and independently verified.
- A waste management plan is in place, including the segregation of hazardous waste and compliance with documented Waste Management Procedures (WMP).
- Energy and water monitoring will be introduced across all sites, forming the foundation for future reduction targets.

Change through ESG: Social Responsibility: Enhancing Patient Care & Workforce Wellbeing
The care we provide has a direct and lasting impact on people’s lives. That’s why we prioritise both enhanced patient service and a strong, supportive environment for our teams:
- Seven out of ten patients would highly recommend our service, reflecting the trust, reliability, and quality of care we deliver.
- Eight out of ten patients now recommend our delivery service, demonstrating the impact of logistics improvements and commitment to on-time, patient-focused care.
- Our diverse and inclusive workforce is a key strength, with demonstrated positive DE&I impact across recruitment, retention, and company culture.
- A formal health and wellbeing programme is in place, covering physical, financial, and psychological wellbeing, supported by health and wellbeing champions.
- Safeguarding is a core priority, with a designated safeguarding officer holding Level 3 training, ensuring all staff receive regular, structured training.
- Formal leadership development programmes are being expanded, ensuring career progression, training, and structured skill development for employees.
Governance & Regulatory Excellence
Strong governance and compliance are the foundation of everything we do. We work to the highest industry standards, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership:
- We are regulated by 12 governing bodies, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
- Recent external audits confirmed zero major compliance concerns, reinforcing our robust governance framework.
- We have a clear whistleblowing policy and a formal anti-bribery and corruption framework, with regular compliance training for all employees.
Looking Ahead: The Future of ESG at Lloyds Clinical
While we are proud of our ESG progress, we recognise that there is more to do. Our roadmap for the future includes:
- Transitioning to lower-emission transport solutions, ensuring our fleet aligns with sustainability best practices.
- Expanding patient support programmes, ensuring that those who need treatment at home can access it seamlessly and safely.
- Enhancing our ESG supplier auditing process, ensuring responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement across our operations.
- Increasing transparency in ESG reporting, aligning with industry best practices and evolving regulatory expectations.
