Excellence in Action: Lloyds Clinical Achieves Top Rating in Care Inspectorate Review

We’re proud to share that Lloyds Clinical has been awarded the highest possible rating following an unannounced inspection of our clinical services in Scotland by the Care Inspectorate – a clear reflection of the quality, safety, and professionalism our teams deliver every day.

Conducted between 24th and 31st March 2025, the inspection provided a real-time, independent view of how our services operate across home and healthcare centre settings. The evaluation covered all aspects of our registered service, including governance systems, care planning, team capability, and the experiences of those we support.

We’re delighted to have achieved Excellent ratings across both key domains:

Supporting people’s wellbeing

6 (Excellent)

Leadership and staffing

6 (Excellent)

These results highlight the strength of our multidisciplinary teams, the consistency of our care, and the culture we’ve built around shared responsibility and continuous improvement.

The inspector gathered insights directly from patients, families, clinical colleagues, and NHS and pharmaceutical partners. Their feedback reinforced the confidence others place in our service – and the difference our teams make.

Patients described our nurses as “brilliant”, pointing to the professionalism and reassurance they bring:

“He’s very comfortable with the nurses – we’ve been able to continue travelling and going on holiday because of their approach to his care.”

“All of them [nurses] are just brilliant – they keep me well informed.”

“I can ask for advice at any point. If they aren’t the right person to speak to, they help me find the person who is.”

Our partners also praised the joined-up way we work – from safe discharge to service mobilisation — and the clear communication they receive throughout.

More than 20 colleagues from across Lloyds Clinical supported the inspection, representing Nursing, Pharmacy, HR, Quality and Governance, Transport, Patient Services and Commercial teams. Together, we submitted 198 pieces of evidence, each reviewed through our internal assurance process to ensure accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.

This outcome reflects more than operational excellence – it demonstrates who we are as an organisation. It strengthens confidence in our ability to deliver specialist care outside of hospital in the UK, reinforces our value to NHS and pharma partners, and builds further trust with the patients we support.

Thank you to every colleague involved – and to everyone who plays a role in making our service what it is.
