Celebrating the people driving change across the NHS

Every year, the Awards bring together examples of innovation, collaboration and service improvement from across the health service, highlighting practical approaches that are improving patient experience and responding to some of the most pressing challenges facing healthcare.
That work deserves to be recognised and shared.
Healthcare transformation is already happening across the NHS, often through teams redesigning pathways, testing new approaches and finding practical ways to make services work better for patients and the people delivering them. The HSJ Awards provide an important opportunity to bring those achievements into view and give others across the health service the chance to learn from them.

Recognising innovation where care is changing
One category with particular relevance for Lloyds Clinical is the Neighbourhood and Community Care Innovation of the Year Award, which our Chief Commercial Officer, Kieran Doona, is helping to judge this year.
Across the NHS, there is increasing focus on how appropriate care can be delivered closer to people through neighbourhood health models, community services and care within patients’ homes.
This shift brings opportunities to rethink how services connect around the individual, how different organisations work together and how patients can receive the right support in the most appropriate setting.
It is an area we understand well at Lloyds Clinical. Our work alongside NHS partners gives us direct insight into the role specialist care outside hospital can play within wider pathways, while also reinforcing the importance of clinical governance, collaboration and patient experience when new models of care are developed.
For Kieran, judging the category is an opportunity to hear directly from those putting these principles into practice.
He said: “As the NHS continues its shift towards neighbourhood health, innovation is no longer just about new technology – it’s about redesigning care around patients, communities and partnership working. I’m excited to meet the teams who are bringing that vision to life and whose work is improving patient care while inspiring others across the NHS.”
Sharing what works
The value of awards such as these extends beyond celebrating individual achievements.
When effective ideas are shared, they can prompt conversations elsewhere, give others confidence to try something different and support wider learning across the health service.
That is particularly important as the NHS continues to develop more sustainable models of care and respond to changing patient needs. Progress will depend on collaboration across organisations and professions, alongside a willingness to learn from approaches that are already making a difference.
The 2026 shortlist reflects the breadth of that work, with organisations from across the NHS demonstrating how change can be driven at every level of the health service.
