Lloyds Clinical recognised at PharmaTimes Awards 2026 for cancer care, patient experience and innovation
We are proud to have been recognised at the PharmaTimes Awards 2026, with our cancer services honoured across three categories.
We won the Improving Patient Experience Award for our Oncology Nurse Advisor Team and the Overall Team of the Year Award for our Cancer Team. We were also Highly Commended in the Innovation Excellence Award category for our Community ECG Monitoring Service.
Improving Patient Experience Award
The Improving Patient Experience Award recognises teams that have made a meaningful difference to the patient journey, improving the quality, accessibility and overall experience of care. For us, this recognition highlights the work of our Oncology Nurse Advisor Team, which provides specialist support to patients and families throughout treatment.
Over the past year, the team carried out 3,942 blood-chasing interventions and rapidly managed 164 out-of-range results, helping to support timely clinical decisions and reduce unnecessary disruption to treatment. Alongside that, the team handled 1,477 inbound and 821 outbound patient calls, with an average answer time of 26 seconds. In just four months, the team also completed 161 proactive mid-cycle toxicity calls, contributing to a 94 per cent hospital admission avoidance rate. Together, these measures show a service built around responsiveness, continuity and support at some of the most vulnerable points in a patient’s treatment journey.
Overall Team of the Year Award
The Overall Team of the Year Award was presented on the day from across the category winners, recognising the strongest overall team among those already awarded. For our Cancer Team, this was a further acknowledgement of the quality of our collective contribution, from clinical expertise and pathway coordination to the consistent support patients receive throughout treatment.
Innovation Excellence Award
We were also Highly Commended in the Innovation Excellence Award category for our Community ECG Monitoring Service. Developed for patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy who require routine ECG monitoring, the service was introduced to address a clear gap in the pathway. Patients receiving treatment outside hospital were often still required to travel back into NHS settings solely for an ECG, adding further pressure at an already demanding time.
By embedding ECG monitoring into the existing treatment pathway, we created a nurse-led service that allows ECGs to be carried out in the patient’s home, with rapid interpretation and direct sharing of results with the treating consultant. The service has helped reduce delays to treatment, improve reassurance for patients and carers, and cut the disruption associated with extra appointments and travel. It also demonstrates how collaborative, well-governed innovation can improve both patient care and service efficiency.
Hollie Murphy, Head of Nursing – Private and Cancer at Lloyds Clinical, said:
“I am incredibly proud of the Cancer Team as a whole as we receive these awards, which reflect the dedication, compassion and expertise of our colleagues. While it is brilliant to receive external recognition, the greatest achievement is knowing that our work is making a real difference to the lives and experiences of patients every day. These awards belong to every member of the team who strives to deliver outstanding care and support.”
These results are a credit to the teams delivering our cancer services and to the standards they bring to patient care every day. They also reinforce our commitment to improving experience, supporting treatment outside hospital and continuing to strengthen the services patients rely on.
